Working towards Recovery with Schizophrenia

It is important to help individuals with schizophrenia stay in touch with their strengths and talents as they adjust to the challenges inherent with schizophrenia.  Helping people build trust in themselves and their environment can provide a good foundation for them to begin the process of recovery.

Hope and inspiration are important aspects of therapy to combat the fear of failure and lack of confidence that one often experiences when they have an episode.  Medications and cognitive therapy can help many individuals make adjustments that can facilitate their progress.

I have experience managing a partial hospitalization program and have worked extnesively with psychiatrist to augment their medication management treatment for people dealing with a number of severe diagnoses.  I welcome the opportunity to work in this capacity.

I have an eclectic, holistic approach in working with people. I believe in helping people recognize and utilize their strengths to overcome any challenge they might face. In this process, we can explore any unconscious blocks that might be interfering with connecting with others and their environment to make the most of each moment. I believe that the “here and now” is where we experience life to the fullest. Along these lines, I try to help people find the balance between their emotional and reasonable minds to effectively problem solve issues to be addressed.
